SOLIDWORKS World 2017 Recap

Editor's Note: This post was written by Technical Support Extraordinaire Michelle Gagnon, who attended SOLIDWORKS World 2017 with members of the Markforged team.

About SOLIDWORKS World

Thousands of SOLIDWORKS enthusiasts and resellers flocked to Los Angeles last week for the 2017 SOLIDWORKS World conference. SOLIDWORKS World is an annual conference and trade show for users of the popular CAD Software. The event features training sessions, product showcases, and general sessions with keynote speakers. Attendees and exhibitors spanned a range of industries from simulation software to robotics and everything in between. Attendees were able to browse through the cutting edge technologies at exhibitor booths, showcased in the SOLIDWORKS Partner Pavilion, during their down time between sessions and special events

Our booth at SOLIDWORKS World was always busy!

Markforged at SWW17

Markforged was part of the Partner Pavilion at SOLIDWORKS World, showcasing our printers and especially our printed parts in functional applications. Some of our featured parts and applications included robotic end effectors for industrial manufacturing and our well-known Ducati brake lever. We kept our printers busy throughout the entire conference as well, printing several Onyx parts on the Mark X and Mark Two. Most of the parts we printed would go on to be molds for Sand Casting applications, but we had some fun printing out the logo for the New England Patriots, as the conference started on Superbowl Sunday. The Metal X also made an appearance at SOLIDWORKS World; it spent the conference running scans of some of our parts and it definitely generated a lot of buzz from attendees and exhibitors passing by.

Our Ducati retrofitted with printed parts from the Mark Two, Mark X, and Metal X was a big hit with attendees

Final Thoughts

Overall, we were very excited to showcase our wide range of applications for our printed parts and to be able to talk about the Metal X. Thanks to all the resellers, customers, and Solidworks enthusiasts that came by to learn more!
