Markforged Achieves ISO/IEC 27001 Certification

WATERTOWN, Massachuesetts – 6 February 2020 – Markforged, the leading provider of metal and carbon fiber 3D printers, today announced that it is the first – and only – Additive Manufacturing Platform to earn ISO/IEC 27001 Certification.

The ISO/IEC 27001 certification demonstrates that Markforged has met rigorous international standards in ensuring the privacy, confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the entire Markforged ecosystem. The ISO/IEC 27001 certification includes the Markforged best-in-class Eiger cloud additive manufacturing platform, 3D printing hardware, fleet management software, and information governance policies.

"We believe that every product and engineering decision we make has a security component to it, and our customers and their data are at the center," said David Benhaim, CTO, CISO, Markforged. "We are setting the standard for additive manufacturing, and our strategic investment in maintaining a robust security program and completion of this internationally recognized certification process demonstrates our steadfast commitment to security and the protection of our customers' data."

Today, Markforged's cloud-first software strategy is enabling competitive enterprises around the world to quickly adopt additive manufacturing across a broadening set of applications and use cases from production assembly, defense, military, top-secret R&D, and aerospace. Now, with ISO/IEC 27001 certification, customers across the spectrum of information security requirements, with highly sensitive data, can leverage the power of Eiger and the Markforged ecosystem to innovate faster and drastically reduce product time-to-market. This underpins Markforged's industry-leading cloud software strategy to unlock customers' full global potential, building on top of best-in-class security, focused on protecting critical customer information in a way that guarantees business continuity and the continuous management and mitigation of risks.

Compliance with this standard exemplifies Markforged's commitment to monitoring adherence to best practices through repeatable processes including data transmission, storage, logging, access controls, operations, cryptography, management of third parties, incident management, tracking of threats, and continuous improvement. A-LIGN, a third party certification organization accredited through the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB), conducted a rigorous independent assessment of Markforged's Information Security Management System (ISMS) and related business processes.

ISO/IEC 27001:2013 is an Information Security Management System (ISMS) standard published in October 2013 by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The standard ensures that organizations have established methodologies and a framework of business and IT processes to help identify, manage, and reduce risks.
