Intellidesign

Queensland-based manufacturer Intellidesign was contacted by a client to help improve on-site groundwater quality monitoring. The client wanted to replace a manual process, which involved collecting samples in person, with an automated system that could be installed on-site.

They only needed eight initial prototypes. Given the small production quantity and high production cost, Intellidesign used Markforged 3D printers to create molds for the polyurethane parts critical to the system. The molds, printed in two halves, took only 60 hours from start to finish, and performed just as well as far more expensive machined parts would have.
