A beast of a machine.
The FX20 is the biggest and most capable printer we've ever developed, advancing the benefits of the Digital Forge platform while opening up new application spaces.Print System
A massive 525mm × 400mm × 400mm build volume, nearly 5 times larger than our X7. Fully heated, sealed and optimized for fast printing.Build Chamber
The FX20's heated chamber features a self-leveling bed and precise temperature control for a simple user experience.Print Head
The FX20 print head features a direct drive, 3 nozzle system and contains more sensors alone than the entire Markforged X7.Touchscreen
An articulating 7-inch with capacitive touch interface enables you to view printer status, initiate builds, and perform all on-machine utilities.Material Drawer
The FX20 features a sealed material drawer with four dedicated spool bays, precise moisture monitoring, and simple material loading.Motion System
Precision mechanical design, new sensing equipment, reengineered motion controllers, and a new revolutionary print file format blend speed and accuracy.Print System

Dual convection heaters
The FX20 can heat its chamber to 200℃ while maintaining high thermal uniformity.
Continuous fiber
The FX20 is the only Markforged printer capable of reinforcing ULTEM™ 9085 Filament with continuous fiber.
Verified flat aluminum print bed
A flat aluminum vacuum bed provides the base for print sheets.
Automated calibration
A fully automated self-calibration routine eliminates the need to level the bed or set machine offsets.
Designed for fast printing
An inboard extrusion motor paired with printhead components designed for rapid heating and fast extrusion deliver high print speeds without sacrificing quality or reliability.
Easily swappable modules
Each print module has its own PCBA and contains storage and calibration for turnkey swapping.
Three nozzle design
The FX20 uses three print modules — two for plastic and one for continuous fiber. The dual plastic nozzles enable printing dedicated Support for ULTEM™ Filament.
XL Spools
FX20 is capable of using our standard 800cc spools or our new 3200cc XL spools for extended uninterrupted runtime.
Dedicated Material Bays
Each material bay is fully sealed and contains a moisture sensor capable of measuring down to 10ppm, or 0.04% relative humidity. bays A1 and A2 both feed to nozzle A, and bays B1 and B2 feed to nozzle B.
Two active spools
The FX20 is the first Markforged printer able to print with two polymer spools simultaneously — enabling printing with dedicated ULTEM™ Support material.
Filament feed-assist
Motors at the inlet of each material bay feed material to the extruder, delivering a seamless material load experience.
High-resolution linear encoders
The FX20 features closed loop position control on all axes with 2μm resolution linear encoders.
Precision gantry
Engineered for precision motion control with the stiffness and thermal stability to enable high-speed printing at elevated temperatures.
Closed loop extrusion control
Optical sensors in the bellows detect Filament feed rate in real time, enabling precise control of the extruder.
Material feed system
Filaments are fed from the material cabinet to the top chamber, where they are routed with fiber through the energy chain.
High-powered servo motors
To drive the larger print head at high speed, the FX20 swaps stepper motors for three high-powered servos.
