Announcing Over 60 Metal X Roadshows

Markforged is revolutionizing the manufacturing industry — providing strong parts, fast to the market. To make sure you’re up to date with this latest innovation in manufacturing, we’re currently hosting over 60 open houses around the world this year — from the US to as far away as Australia! During these events, you’ll hear about what the future of industrial manufacturing holds, see the Markforged Metal X 3D printer in action, and learn how quick and cost-effective parts can be designed and fabricated for manufacturing.

Take one example across the pond in the United Kingdom. Hoping to find a high-strength 3D printer that would reliably print the parts needed and avoid costly subcontracting to a third-party manufacturer, Production Engineer Manager, Mark Statham at Dunlop Systems attended one of the roadshow events in the UK with Mark3D.

Dunlop Systems and Components designs and manufactures advanced electronic control systems and air suspension components. As a component manufacturer and supplier, they specialize in supplying top-quality equipment to the automotive and ancillary industries with an emphasis on reliability and performance.

The team needed to find areas to cut costs to keep its competitive edge in the marketplace. After attending the roadshow, Statham and Mark3D reviewed the ROI of a printer, and were able to justify the cost. They have since put their printer to good use!

Fast forward a few months – if you ask Statham if his ROI is on target, he’ll happily tell you it isn’t. In real-life, the payback on the printer has been reached far ahead of schedule in an impressive five months. Statham will also tell you “there is an increased workload going through my department now – up an impressive 30%”.

There are also some things that can’t be calculated. “How do you put a financial value on job satisfaction, gained from a huge sense of achievement and much greater design freedom?” he asks.

By leveraging innovative technology to produce custom manufactured parts for your operations, you can avoid costly delays and downtime, just like Dunlop Systems. Sign up for an event near you to see what the next industrial revolution holds and how you can reduce current spend on tooling, jigs, and fixtures.
